THE SATANIC SATANIST - Portugal, The Man (2009)

Don't let the title fool you, Satan makes no appearance on this offering from Alaska-based trio Portugal, The Man.

It is, in fact, one of the most consistently upbeat albums in recent memory, a light psychadelic folk-rock romp featuring tons of glammy group vocals and bearing more than a passing sonic resemblence to David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars.

Never great (though Lovers In Love comes close), but always listenable and fun.
