McQ's BAKER'S DOZEN 1965

SONG OF THE YEAR
1. (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction - The Rolling Stones:  Several heavyweights in this year's list, but this song has, over the years, become the very definition of rock n' roll. Voted number one all time in every major poll I've seen recently with the exception of Rolling Stone Magazine's, where it came in number two behind my 1965 number two.

AND THE REST OF McQ's BAKER'S DOZEN

2. Like A Rolling Stone - Bob Dylan: That organ, that opening snare shot, that definitive catchphrase, those phenomenally literate lyrics, all somewhat obfuscating what's really just one of the bitterest, most small-minded, most mean-spirited breakup kiss-offs in music history.  That's why Satisfaction gets the nod in my book, its heart is in a better place.

Here's a live version from Dylan's historic 1966 tour of Europe with members of what would later become know as The Band.
